CELEBRATION 2025
Every year, Arcoíris Cultural, in partnership with Ballet Folklórico Oregon Coast, continues the tradition of celebrating Día de Muertos. This free event provides an opportunity to remember our loved ones and celebrate culture and community. It is celebrated in a festive environment with music, dance, food, and a variety of family-friendly activities. Local artisans also participate, sharing their traditional products and crafts, further enriching the experience. Artists present their beautiful work, making this celebration unique and meaningful for all. Additionally, many community organizations participate through sponsorships and tabling, connecting our community with much needed resources and services.
This year, our celebration took place on Sunday, November 2nd at 3 PM at the Newport Performing Arts Center (777 W Olive St, Newport, OR 97365). Read all about it here and check out the photos below.

ABELINA PABLO PEREZ
Guatemalan Weaver
Abelina started weaving traditional Mayan textiles at a very young age. Her mother and grandmother passed on this tradition to her. Most of the patterns and colors are combinations of designs that are kept in her memories, the materials have to be purchased and mailed all the way from her homeland “Todos Santos Guatemala”.
To weave a handbag could take up to 2 months, Sedalina and thousands of colorful lana wool are use to create beautiful and unique art pieces.
Arcoíris Cultural has collaborated with Abelina to provide weaving and textile demonstrations to our community and she often attends our community events as a vendor. If you are interested in purchasing a piece from Abelina, please reach out to our team here for more information.
