We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this beautiful celebration, full of culture, art, and tradition, possible.
The event began at 3 in the afternoon with a warm welcome to the community and an Andean music performance by LatiChayag. Miguel Martínez then shared the meaning and origin of this important date for our Latin American cultures. Community members participated with offerings and photographs of their loved ones, which they placed on the altar with care. We enjoyed pan de muerto (bread of the dead) prepared by Mrs. Priscila from Newport, along with tamales and traditional drinks.
During the afternoon we enjoyed:
🎉 Ballet Folclórico Oregon Coast
🎉 Ameyalmazatl Citlaltonal Mexica Aztec Dance Group
🎉 LatiChayag – Andean Music
🎉 Fernando Martínez and Zumba with Latin Studio Dance Fitness
🎉 Enchanted Willow Dancers
🎉 Face painting and children's activities
🎉 Artisans, local businesses, and community resource tables
🎉 Flu shots courtesy of Lincoln County Public Health
🎉 Free pan de muerto, tamales, and drinks for everyone
At the end, many people returned to the altar to take photos and pay tribute to those who always live in our hearts.
Special thanks to:
